Our rankings, category winners, point valuations, and card assessments are produced independently by PayWithThis. They reflect our own methodology, data, and opinions — not those of any issuer. No issuer reviews, approves, or has any editorial control over the content on this site.

We rank cards primarily by effective return percentage, calculated as earn multiplier multiplied by our baseline valuation of the card’s point currency. Point valuations are our editorial estimates of a reasonable redemption value and are necessarily approximations. The actual value you realize will depend on how you redeem, your spending patterns, transfer partner availability, and issuer policy, which can change.

Signed-in users can override our default valuations with their own values; in that case, the effective returns displayed are calculated from your inputs.

We make a good-faith effort to keep reward rates, fees, and benefits accurate, but these are set by the issuer and change frequently. Before applying for any card or making a financial decision based on information here, always verify the current terms directly with the issuer. See our Terms of Service for additional disclaimers.

The PayWithThis browser extension displays our card recommendations on third-party merchant pages. Any overlay or notification shown by the extension originates from PayWithThis and is not endorsed by the site you are visiting. The extension is an independent tool; the merchants and issuers whose sites it may appear on have no role in producing its content.
